Welcome !

Welcome to TONOMIA, where technology meets nature to empower sustainable living!

In a world facing the challenges of climate change, population growth, and increasingly scarce resources, TONOMIA presents an innovative approach to sustainable living. The name TONOMIA encapsulates our company’s commitment to total autonomy, occupying spaces smartly, using nearby and nature-friendly resources, relying on smart and sustainable objects and tools, promoting green mobility, ensuring interconnectivity, and embracing activity from anywhere.

T – Total Life Autonomy

Total life autonomy encapsulate the concept of self-sustaining living, a lifestyle that maximizes efficiency while minimizing waste. The core idea is to generate and consume resources responsibly, decreasing our dependence on external inputs, and increasing resilience against supply disruptions. This involves sustainable energy generation, local food production, water collection, and waste recycling. By pursuing a self-sustaining lifestyle, we can reduce our ecological footprint, foster community resilience, and promote health and wellbeing.

O – Occupation Spaces

TONOMIA advocates for the use of autonomous residential, commercial, or activity spaces that utilize smart technologies to optimize energy consumption and promote sustainability. Smart homes with energy-efficient designs, commercial buildings that incorporate green technologies, and public spaces that are both eco-friendly and user-friendly define our vision. We aim to create spaces that coexist harmoniously with nature and empower individuals to lead sustainable lifestyles.

N – Nearby and Nature-Friendly Resources (Energy and Materials)

TONOMIA’s approach to resources is rooted in using what is locally available and ecologically sound.

When it comes to materials, we believe in the potential of bio-based materials such as wood and natural fibers. These materials are sustainable, renewable, and have a much lower environmental impact compared to traditional materials. Wood is a renewable resource that can sequester carbon, making it a climate-smart choice. Hempcrete for example, a blend of hemp hurds and lime, is a superior insulator and boasts excellent moisture-regulating properties. Using such materials not only reduces emissions and energy use, but also creates healthier indoor environments and connects inhabitants with nature.

In terms of energy, we are strong advocates for solar power. Harnessing the sun’s energy is a clean, renewable, and abundant source of power that can be utilized in various settings – from powering homes and businesses, to charging electric vehicles and portable devices. The use of solar panels can drastically reduce carbon footprints, save on energy bills, and provide energy security. With technological advancements making solar energy increasingly affordable and efficient, it is becoming a key component of sustainable living.

O – Objects and Operating Tools

In our vision for sustainable living, even the objects and tools we use on a daily basis play a crucial role. We promote the use of sustainably designed, durably built, and easily repairable objects. These range from everyday household items to the tools and machinery used in agriculture, manufacturing, and other sectors. By rethinking our possessions from a sustainability perspective, we can significantly reduce waste and resource consumption.

M – Mobility

Mobility is a key aspect of life, and in the world of TONOMIA, it’s powered sustainably. Electric mobility plays a central role in our vision, serving as a solution for transportation that’s clean, efficient, and smart. With advancements in battery technology, charging infrastructure, and smart grids, electric vehicles (EVs) offer a practical and eco-friendly alternative to fossil-fuel-powered vehicles.

Not only do EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, but they can also run on renewable energy sources like solar or wind power. This can significantly reduce the carbon emissions associated with transportation and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment. Additionally, electric mobility can also encompass public transport, bicycles, and other innovative modes of transportation, enabling us to design a comprehensive mobility system that is resilient, efficient, and sustainable.

I – Interconnectivity

In our digital age, interconnectivity and internet access are no longer a luxury, but a necessity. TONOMIA recognizes the role of digital technology in enabling sustainable living, from smart home systems that optimize energy use, to platforms that enable remote working, online education, and virtual community engagement. Ensuring universal and reliable internet access helps individuals and communities stay connected, share resources, and participate in the digital economy, while also enabling a lifestyle that’s less dependent on physical transportation.

A – Activity

Finally, at TONOMIA we believe in the concept of “activity anywhere”. This refers to the ability to work, learn, create, and contribute from anywhere, without the need for daily commuting or reliance on transport. Digital technology and the internet have made it possible for many types of work and other activities to be done remotely.

By promoting remote work and other forms of decentralized activity, we can reduce the need for transportation, with its associated energy use and emissions. This enables a more flexible and balanced lifestyle that values the health of both the individual and the planet.
