From e-Parking to
Distributed AI Factories
How a smart parking infrastructure revealed a far greater opportunity — and how Tonomia pivoted to become a leader in distributed AI infrastructure in Europe.
From TonoPark™ to Distributed AI
The parking infrastructure became a deployment channel, not the core business. Here are the key stages of this strategic transformation.
Tonomia started with a vision of smart parking infrastructure: EV charging, solar panels, AI connectivity. An innovative model, but with limited short-term AI scalability.
The explosion in AI infrastructure demand (€10–15M/MW, too expensive) and our partnerships with NVIDIA, AMD, MiTAC along with early investor conversations revealed a far greater opportunity. The parking infrastructure became a deployment channel, not the core business.
eParking is renamed TonoPark™. Its role becomes exclusive: hosting TonoEdge™ modules (under development, 100× smaller than TonoForge™) inside the masts, alongside EV charging stations. TonoPark™ is no longer a core product — it’s a large-scale TonoEdge™ deployment channel.
TonoEdge™ modules, integrated into TonoPark™ masts, will download and process vehicle data during charging (driving behaviours and urban scenes). This data feeds autonomous driving and embedded AI models, creating a sovereign, unique asset collected at massive scale.
